Terms of Use
⚠️ These documents were reviewed in-house by the Kyklaki team, not by an external lawyer. Kyklaki takes no payments and points have no cash value, so there is no money-services question awaiting legal sign-off. See the "Last updated" date on each document below.

Kyklaki is a trading name of H & A Charalampous Life Solutions LTD, a company registered in Cyprus under number HE 88281, VAT CY10088281Y, with its registered office at Georgiou Averof & Georgiou Fragkoudi, 2, Agios Ioannis, 3061, Limassol, Cyprus. You can reach us at support@kyklaki.com.
1. WHO WE ARE, AND WHAT KYKLAKI IS
Kyklaki is a marketplace where parents and carers pass children's items on to each other. We are an intermediary. We do not own, hold, inspect or test the items listed here, and we are not a party to the exchange between two members.
2. WHO MAY USE KYKLAKI
You must be 18 or over and a parent, carer or family member acting in a personal capacity. Kyklaki is not for children. Accounts require a verified email address; some features require a verified phone number.
3. YOU ARE DEALING WITH ANOTHER PARENT, NOT A SHOP — THIS MATTERS
Everyone on Kyklaki is a private individual, not a business. The law treats those two very differently, and we are required to tell you plainly:
• When you receive an item from another parent, EU consumer protection law DOES NOT APPLY to that exchange. You have no statutory 14-day right of withdrawal, and no statutory legal guarantee of conformity, because the person giving you the item is not a trader.
• There are no business sellers on Kyklaki. If we ever add them, they will be labelled as such on the listing, full consumer rights will apply to what they sell, and we will tell you before the first one appears.
What you do get from Kyklaki, regardless: points held in escrow until you confirm the item arrived, a dispute process, and the ability to report anything that is wrong.
4. POINTS
Points are a closed-loop unit used only inside Kyklaki. One point represents roughly one euro of reference value.
• You earn points by giving items away. You also receive a small bonus when you join and confirm your email, a larger one when your first listing goes live, and one when a parent you invited joins and confirms their email.
• POINTS CANNOT BE BOUGHT. Kyklaki is a closed loop: points are earned only — by giving items away, and through the bonuses above — and never purchased with money. Kyklaki takes no payments and holds no card details. If that were ever to change, we would update these Terms first.
• You can spend points only inside Kyklaki.
• POINTS ARE NOT MONEY, NOT E-MONEY, AND NOT A DEPOSIT. They cannot be exchanged for cash, transferred out, or refunded to your card, and they carry no interest. If you close your account, unspent points are lost.
• We may correct points balances where there has been a technical error, fraud, or an abuse of a bonus scheme.
5. HOW A SWAP WORKS
You request an item. If the giver accepts, your points are held in escrow — they leave your available balance but do not reach the giver. The two of you agree one of our meeting points and a time, and the giver hands the item over there. When you confirm you received it, the points are released to the giver, minus our platform fee. If you neither confirm nor raise a problem within the confirmation window, the points release automatically, so a silent buyer cannot strand a giver's points forever.
A meeting point only works when you are both in the same city, so it is never available for a swap between Cyprus and Greece. If you and the other parent are in different countries, the only way to complete that swap is by courier, arranged between the two of you as described below.
Sending an item to a parcel locker is not available yet.
You may instead agree to send the item with A COURIER THE TWO OF YOU ARRANGE YOURSELVES. That courier is yours, not ours. You choose them, you book them, you pay them directly and in cash, and the contract for carrying the parcel is between you and them. Kyklaki books nothing, pays nothing, is never told what you paid, and cannot follow the parcel. Points never pay a courier.
To make that work, each of you gives the other a first name, a phone number and an address to send to. Neither of you sees the other's until you have both given yours, only the other parent in that swap ever sees it, and we delete both as soon as the swap ends. You never have to use this: a handover in person at a public meeting point is always available where you and the other parent are in the same city.
IF A PARCEL IS LOST OR DAMAGED, THAT IS BETWEEN YOU AND THE COURIER YOU CHOSE. Ask them for it. Kyklaki is not a party to the contract of carriage: we did not choose, book or pay the courier, so we cannot claim against them, and neither can you claim against us. Use a courier that offers tracking and proof of delivery, and keep your proof of postage — that evidence is what a dispute is decided on. The confirmation window above still runs from the moment the giver hands the parcel to the courier, so if you neither confirm nor raise a problem in time, the points release to the giver automatically — including if the parcel never arrives. If you do raise a problem in time, we resolve it through the dispute process below, on the evidence you and the other parent give us. The only remedy Kyklaki controls is the points held in escrow — releasing them to the giver or returning them to you. We do not pay, refund, or otherwise compensate you in money for a lost or damaged parcel; any claim over the parcel itself is against the courier you chose.
If you raise a problem, the release freezes and we look at it. We may decide for the receiver (points refunded, the item taken down) or for the giver (points released). We will tell you why.
6. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES AS A GIVER
Describe the item honestly, including wear and damage. Only pass on items that are clean, safe and not subject to a recall. You must confirm this at the point of listing. Package items so they survive the trip.
7. PROHIBITED ITEMS
Some things may never be passed on here — used car seats and cot mattresses among them. The full list is in our Prohibited Items policy, which forms part of these Terms.
8. CONTENT MODERATION, AND WHAT YOU CAN DO ABOUT IT (Digital Services Act)
Every photo, video and description is checked automatically before a listing can go live. We refuse content that is sexual, violent, involves minors inappropriately, or breaks these Terms. Some items are held for a human to look at.
• Report anything: every listing has a Report button, and you can also write to support@kyklaki.com. We act on reports promptly.
• If we remove your listing, suspend you, or refuse your content, we will tell you what we did and why.
• If you think we got it wrong, reply to that notice and a human will review the decision.
• Repeated abuse — of listings, of reports, or of other members — leads to strikes and then suspension.
• Our single point of contact for authorities and for users on these matters is support@kyklaki.com.
9. FEES
Listing is free. We take a small platform fee in points when a swap completes, and that fee is the only fee there is. Kyklaki takes no money at the moment: there is nothing here to pay for and we hold no card details. If we add anything paid, the price will be shown to you before you pay, and these Terms will say so first. This is about future paid features generally, not points: points can never be bought, whatever else changes (see Section 4).
10. SUSPENSION AND TERMINATION
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these Terms, that is used fraudulently, or that puts children at risk. You can close your own account at any time from your account page, provided you have no open swaps and no points held in escrow.
11. OUR LIABILITY
We provide the platform with reasonable care and skill. We are not the seller and we do not guarantee the items members list. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for the condition, safety or legality of an item, or for what members do outside Kyklaki. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law — including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, and any mandatory consumer or product-safety rights you have.
12. CHANGES
We will tell you before these Terms change in a way that affects you, and you may close your account if you disagree.
13. LAW AND DISPUTES
These Terms are governed by the law of Cyprus. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory law of the country you live in, and you may bring proceedings there. The European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform applies to consumer contracts with a trader; because everyone on Kyklaki today is a private individual swapping with another private individual, it does not currently apply to a Kyklaki swap. If we ever allow business sellers, we will say so here and that platform will apply to those transactions.
